What we are looking for:
Escape Velocity is looking for a talented Weapons Artist to create hard surface assets & organic sculpted props for our project. The ideal person is highly creative in designing weapons, weapon concepts as well as using and working from provided concept. Artist is fluent to complete all stages of model creation, from block out to implementation in engine. You will collaborate closely with Concept Artists, Character Lead, Riggers, Animators to ensure each weapon and prop slots seamlessly into our game and adds value to the overall player experience. This is an opportunity to help build the visual identity and art pipeline for an exciting project.
Requirements
What we will do together:
- Work with the Lead Weapons Artist, Art Director, Character Lead Artist and Concept artist to design beautiful and entertaining weapons and props for character abilities
- Sculpt visually stunning assets in Zbrush. Hard surface as well Organic
- Create high-poly and low-poly models of weapons, props and equipment for games on given concepts and requirements
- Create excellent texturing/material work
- Integrate weapons into the game
What you will bring:
- The ability to interpret and improve concept ideas.
- Ability to create/design weapons is a high plus
- An understanding of modern pipelines and requirements for creating weapons and props
- Experience with Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Unreal
- A compelling portfolio, showcasing your art skills and variety of styles
- Experience with laying out joints and testing mechanics of weapons would be a big plus
